I was recently flying through Lisbon on a return leg to Valencia in Tap Portugal’s business class to Valencia and during my layover I tried to access the lounge and was denied by 2 different lounges, The Blue Lounge and The ANA Lounge (Tap Portugal’s lounge was closed). They both said that Tap Portugal was only offering lounge access to Star Alliance Gold members and I didn’t believe it so I looked online and they were right. The Tap Portugal lounge that recently opened was closed because they were redoing the floor. Tap Portugal wasn’t offering lounge access to their own business class passengers in their hub city! I would think that Tap Portugal would arrange for their premium cabin passengers to have access to one of these lounges. Tap has put the following information on their lounge page:
TAP Lounge, in Lisbon, closed from the 7th to the 23rd of December.
In order to respond to the needs and suggestions of our Clients, TAP’s Lounge at Humberto Delgado Airport, in Lisbon, will be closed from the 7th to the 23rd of December to implement improvements.
Alternatively, Victoria Gold Customers, as well as their travel companion may use the Blue Lounge located at Terminal 1 of the airport .
We deeply regret any inconvenience this situation may cause.
I bought a Business Class ticket on Tap Portugal some time ago before their own lounge even opened but if I was looking at tickets to Europe in Business and knew about this then Tap Portugal would definitely be out of the picture.
